Citzens Hose Company No. 5 does not currently operate any ambulances but will respond to select medical emergencies. We are a certified Quick Response Service licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. We are staffed by Emergency Medical Technicians and Emergency Medical Responders. We have a paid driver on week long from 0800-2200 who is certified as an EMT or EMR.

Why did the fire department show up to my medical emergency?
Citizens Hose Company is a certified Quick Response Service by the Pennsylvania Department of Health staffed by EMTs and EMRs that respond to priority medical emergencies (unresponsive person, cardiac arrests, etc) and to any medical emergency where an ambulance company other than Lock Haven EMS responds. The fire department also handles lift assists if there are no injuries. Sometimes the ambulance will call the fire department to assist with patient extrication.
